I graduated from the Syracuse University School of Social Work in 1979, completing the Family Therapy Training Program. I worked with adolescents and families at St Joseph’s Hospital Psychiatric Services in Syracuse. I received a Certified Alcoholism Counselor Credential, CACC in New York and focused on alcoholic family systems treatment. I worked as an Employee Assistance Counselor for a public company in upstate NY and earned a CEAP designation. I relocated to Kansas City, MO and worked for Liberty County Family Court and became certified by the Missouri State Supreme Court as a domestic mediator. I taught Conflict Resolution/Mediation at Missouri Western State University in St Joseph, MO. I have been in private practice since completing my LCSW. I became an approved EMDR therapist and a Certified EMDR therapist in 2013. I also studied with the Gottman Institute and completed level 2 training in marital therapy. I have been with CBHA since returning to CT, my home state, in 2017. I specialize in trauma treatment, EMDR trauma intervention, anxiety and depression treatment, grief and loss, marriage/family therapy and alcohol/substance abuse counseling. I recently began training to utilize service dog trauma intervention and work with “Angel”, a one year old Labrador Retriever. I am licensed by the State of CT as an LCSW and earned my ACSW from the National Association of Social Workers.
